Fine Coal Upgrade

Description:

Daniels in working with the client saw an opportunity to improve plant yield by updating their fine coal circuitry at an existing plant.  The project was completed over two phases with the first phase being the replacement of outdated dewatering equipment with fine wire sieves and screen bowl centrifuges.  This new design prevented the recirculation of fine coal within the plant which eliminated coal being lost to the thickener.  The second phase of the project was the installation of additional flotation and flotation product dewatering capacity.  For this portion of the project Daniels selected the Jet Cell flotation technology and this improved the combustible recovery for the minus 0.15 mm coal.  A third vacuum filter was installed to help recover the additional flotation product that was produced in the flotation cells.
